Bike Time
Grandma Mulder found a great bicycle for Eli this past weekend at a garage sale. He is thrilled by his new "icicle." I just hope he waits a few years before deciding to bike across the country like his uncle and aunt.

A New Letter
Eli has become quite proficient at recognizing and picking out an "E" from a group of letters so I thought it might be time to expand his knowledge of the alphabet. This morning during craft time I decided to test out a couple of letters on him. First, "L" as in Luke. I thought it would be nice for him to know the first letter to his brother's name. And besides, it's the second letter to his own name. So convenient. Except he wanted to turn every "L" we made into a capital "E." Okay.
I decided to try "M" for Mulder. I finished writing a beautiful capital "M" and asked Eli if he knew what it was. A huge smile came across his face and he blurted out, "Donalds!"
Oh, boy.

Baseball Time
The boys and I went to a Loons baseball game with Grammy tonight. They were pretty serious about taking everything in. Eli was pretty excited while walking into the stadium. He kept chanting, "Baseball!" and doing a little jig. Then he saw a worm just outside the gate. "Worm!" Jig. Total excitement. Maybe not all for baseball, but excited none the less.
Luke grimacing as the Whitecaps center fielder makes three great catches in a row. Three up, three down. (It wasn't the greatest start for Mid-Michigan.) 
Lou E. Loon makes his first appearance. Both boys were interested, but were content to wave at the silly bird from their seats. Neither one wanted to get too much closer.
Finally! A Loons home run! Eli and Grammy do the "Funky Feather." 
We left at the seventh inning stretch, so we'll have to check tomorrow's paper for the official score. But, we had fun, enjoyed the hot dogs, and the boys are now sound asleep in their beds. I'd say it was a successful Friday outing.
