Bathing Buddies

I thought you might enjoy this picture of the boys getting their nightly scrub-down. If a little boy's day is truly measured by how dirty the bathwater is at the end of it, we are surely enjoying each day to the fullest!

Playmates

It's hard to blog...

...with a baby on your lap. And a teething Luke has been craving some serious lap time over the past few weeks. He's currently sitting on the floor next to me slowly disentigrating the "w" section of my American Heritage Dictionary with his drool. He seems to be fascinated with the pictures of Oscar Wilde and Woodrow Wilson so I'll let him gaze and drool and I'll smile at the spit stain when, in ten years, I need to know the definition of windjammer (a large sailing ship) or wimble (a hand tool for boring holes). We have been thoroughly enjoying the start of summer, but I think Dave and I are still amazed at how fully consuming caring for two young boys can be. Our dreams of being in tip-top shape for a late-summer triathlon and hosting all kinds of pool parties for friends and family are taking a backseat to more pressing matters: diaper changes, baby food, teaching Eli how to jump, discovering new words (zoo, kitty, Brooke), washing clothes... I'll be really excited if we can get the lawn mowed before the weekend. It's this crazy season in life that my friends who are a few years older tried to explain to me and now I'm trying to describe to those who will be here soon. It's really no use, though. You've just got to live it. So, I'm sad there haven't been more pictures to post, but I'm glad it's because we're busy living the life that makes the pictures so great.
