Sleeping like a champ after a few minutes out in the afternoon sunshine.

Aunt Andrea and cousins Geneva and Brooke made the trip to Midland this past Saturday to visit the newest addition to the family. Brooke was trying to use the potty when we arrived, but was so excited when we walked in the door that she couldn't even take time to pull up her pants!

Proud Aunt Andrea reported that Eli was getting plenty of kicks from his younger cousin during this shot.

Geneva is going to be a big help to her mommy when her new little brother or sister arrives. Eli loves his oldest cousin!

Grandpa Deal makes a quick stop after work to check up on his youngest grandson. It looks like Eli's winking at him!

Grandma Deal gets a snuggle in.

Outside after Eli's first tour of the neighborhood. It's been pretty brisk weather since he's arrived, but we keep him pretty bundled up.

A Mulder family photo op during Eli's first official big outing. We had dinner at Grandma and Grandpa Deal's on Friday night. (We followed that up with dinner at Grandma and Grandpa Mulder's on Saturday... everyone wants to make sure we're eating well!)

Eli bundled for a walk outside. We think he looks like a starfish!

Snuggled up after his first bath. He actually seemed to enjoy the warm water.

Eli's great grandparents--Papo and Nana--made a special trip from Indiana to meet the little guy before they left for a few months in sunny Florida. Notice Eli's fire engine outfit in honor of Papo's one time career.
That's all for now. This new momma's got to go snuggle with her precious little bundle!

Ultimate October challenge winner

Those correct with the gender are Rebekah/ Tristan, Adam, Mom Mulder, Dad Mulder. The closest for the date was Dave with the 19th, closest with the weight was Rebekah/Tristan with a guess of 7lb 7 oz with Dad Mulder being the furthest off at 9lb 10 oz. Closest height was a tie with Grandma Deal, Rob and Aunt Erin. The overall Ultimate October Challenge winner goes to the Tristan/Rebekah team. They guessed Baby Boy born October 20th at 23 inches and 7lb7oz. Well played all. Play again next time (by the way this is obviously Dave posting this message)

Six weeks and counting...

Baby Mulder is doing well and kicking like crazy! S/he gets the hiccups at least once a day now. It's fun to watch my growing belly bounce up and down, but not so fun when a little heel (or was that an elbow?) catches me in the ribs. The weather is definitely feeling "fallish" this week. With the cool nights, long sleeve shirts, and leaves beginning to turn colors, I beginning to feel like October 23 is just around the corner! Do you think this little one is going to be a boy or a girl? Take your vote at the bottom of the blog.

Woodchips

Last Thursday, we got a HUGE pile of woodchips delivered to our driveway. Dave and I had to head to Huntington for a few days to close on the house there. (What a HUGE praise. God's timing is so good!) When we got back, we hosted a "Pool Party." It was really a woodchip moving party in disguise... but we got lots of help and had most of the pile gone by Saturday afternoon. Our neighbors polished off the pile Sunday and we now have our driveway back. Check out some of the improvements to our yard--

Dave and Dad Mulder put this part of the fence up this past spring. They designed and built the gate themselves. Now it's wide enough to easily fit the lawnmower (or a wheelbarrow filled with woodchips!) through.

Rob was the brainchild behind our updated fire pit. We added the evergreens, grass, bricks, and--of course--woodchips, this summer.
